🏳️🌈 Grindr Buys Freddie: The Category is Validated
On 30 September, Grindr announced the acquisition of PurposeMed — the company behind Freddie, North America's largest PrEP telehealth service — for US$250M (US$190M cash + US$60M stock). Why we think this is one of the most important signals our category has had:
- A dating community platform decided healthcare is core, not adjacent.
- Community-vertical healthcare now has a validated strategic buyer class.
- Freddie's model is our model. Freddie grew on public-health partnerships and discounted-drug programs in Canada and the US. We partner with community clinics providing the same services.
We have since gotten in touch with Grindr to explore how we can partner up to expand access to PrEP via Pride Health's platform.
👼 Fundraising
We are looking for mission-oriented angels to help raise US$200,000 (at US$4.5M post-money) by Q4 to triple our ARR run-rate to $1.5 million by 2027.
🙏 Support Needed
- Introductions to wellness & longevity clinics, and compounding pharmacies specialising in peptides, sexual wellness, and hormone therapy
- Introductions to endocrinologists, infectious disease, and immunology specialists with a focus in longevity and preventive wellness
Thank you for backing care without judgment. We said the compounding had begun. This quarter, it showed.
Warmly,
Bruce Li
